Certified Anesthesia Medical Coder - CPC - CCS

Job Responsibilities

As a Certified Coder, you will be responsible for analyzing physician documentation and consulting with physicians in assigning appropriate clinical diagnosis and procedure codes for a pediatric office. Anesthesiology coding is a unique specialty within the world of medical coding, and it requires a special skill-set and mastery of both the CPT coding paradigm and the ASA coding system. They must know surgical and obstetric coding rules in addition to the anesthesiology regulations. Add to that the expertise needed to code pain management procedures which encompasses E&M services, radiology, and surgical coding.

Healthcare Medical Coder (Medical Billing Specialist)

Requirements: Successful candidates for the Certified Coding Specialist should have a familiarity with third party fee profiles and reimbursement requirements. Someone who is detail-oriented and able to meet targeted deadlines would be a good fit for this healthcare billing role as well.

Additional requirements of the Medical Billing Specialist include:

  • 2-5 years' experience with healthcare coding and billing
  • Anesthsia speciality coding
  • CPC - coding certification or CCS
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and ICD-9 / ICD-10, CPT
