As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
1. Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
2. Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.
3. Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
4. Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions.
Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Education: Graduate of an accredited Practical or Vocational Nursing program.
Licensure, Certification and Registration: Florida state licensure as a Practical Nurse (LPN) or Vocational Nurse (LVN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
Required Work Experience: 1 year related experience.
