Attendant fills a very important position at Jordan Health Services. During an orientation conference, which may
be conducted in a client’s home, the Attendant is introduced to the client and
the approved tasks to be performed by the Attendant are reviewed and
explained. The Attendant goes into the
home of his/her clients on a scheduled basis to provide personal care and/or
household maintenance chores for the elderly and/or disabled individuals who
cannot do so for themselves. This
involves such things as cooking certain meals for the client, assisting with
personal care, transferring and ambulating, shopping, escorting and cleaning
the client’s home. The Attendant spends
a lot of time with clients in their home, and therefore must be very
compassionate, patient and responsible.
He/she must also be constantly aware of the client’s safety and
well-being and be ready to assist in emergencies.
